Parallel Computing for Numerical Analysis of a Fan Assembly Subjected to a SPH Bird

Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is widely adopted to predict bird strike events. To improve the parallel computing efficiency of SPH approach, was performed on process a striking fan assembly. Since cube-shaped domains aligned along coordinate axes that are inherent in decomposition algorithm may result low computational efficiency, effect customized data partitioning investigated. The results show decompositions can minimize communication between processors and ensure load balance during simulation process. Besides, distributed with domain present reasonable predictions at soft-impact damage, achieving consistent within range less than 7% reference derived from shared memory computing.
